5 Ways Supporting Charities is Good for Business

There are many charities across the world, with many running as a non-profit so they rely on donations and support from individuals and businesses. For example, the organizations on this list of charities are all doing important work and are being supported financially by Crewe Foundation and Crewe Foundation Donors. If you are a business owner, you can do so much good for the world and for your business by choosing a charity that you would like to support. Customers and investors will likely see your business in a more positive light and will want to support your business. There are many other benefits to the support that you can provide to a charity as well though, including the five ways that are seen in the information below.

1. More Revenue

As mentioned, more customers and more investors are likely to go to your business if they know that you are a charitable organization. Giving something as generous as a car donation as charity for example, can be a great way to attract business attention. Customers are likely even to switch the companies that they choose to work with, including if you offer services if they know that their purchase is being used for a good cause. Studies have found that buyers will also spend more when they know that a portion of their purchase will be going to a charity. This is able to increase your sales so much as well as with bigger orders, your business generates more revenue, making up for any loss that you get from the donation.

2. Loyal Customers

Another way that donating to charities can be good for your business is in that you will develop more loyal customers. Close to half of customers across the globe report that they will continue working with a business that helps charities. These customers are also likely to recommend your company to other customers, whether those be friends or family members, who will also become loyal customers. Make sure that the charity that you donate to is meaningful to your customers. If you run a car dealership, for example, consider the Kidney Foundation pick up in which you can donate cars to the nonprofit.

3. Loyal Team Members

If your business donates to charities, your team will most likely feel better about working for your company. They will be more likely to stay loyal to your company as they feel as if they are helping in the effort to give a good cause to the community that you serve. This will also make your employees and team members more motivated, as studies have shown that team members are more willing to put in the work for a company that is doing good for the community.

4. Increased Reputation

The community to which you donate to will likely have a more positive image of your brand which increases your reputation if you work with the charity. More individuals in your community will also want to learn more about your brand, and your name will be much more evident in your community as a business that cares about the place where they live. Charity Right, a hunger charity in the UK, helps people feed themselves or their families by providing regular, nutritious meals. When the community knows that you offer excellent services and products and offer help for the community, they will be more likely to gravitate towards your company.

5. Tax Deductions

The last benefit of donating to a charity with your business is that you have the opportunity to receive tax deductions for every donation that you make. This can lower how much you owe in taxes at the end of the year so that you do not have as high of a tax bill. Make sure that the organization that you donate to is credible and eligible for tax deductions, and ensure you have some form of proof of your donation. Make sure these deductions are itemized on your tax returns as well in order to receive the best deductions.

There are so many charities that are in need of monetary and physical donations around the world, including in your personal community. If you are a business owner, there are many benefits to you if you find an organization with a cause close to your heart that you can donate to. You will generate more loyal customers and team members and will increase your reputation in the community. Your revenue will increase as well as your income due to the tax deductions that can come from the donations you make.
