Honestly, one of the worst times of the year that you can go to the gym is January. This is due to the fact that everyone else will be doing the exact same thing. Everyone goes into January thinking that this will be the month for a fresh start. It will be a ‘new them’ and therefore they will lose all of the weight they have accumulated over Christmas. But under this self-made pressure, many people give up pretty fast. Avoid their frantic workouts and over-crowded gym spaces by waiting until February. That way you won’t start off too fast and end up burning out.

When February arrives, it’s likely that you are going to be under a lot of pressure from work to deliver deadlines. The Christmas holidays have most likely accumulated a lot of work. Therefore, it’s up to you to get it back under control when it gets to this time of the year. Don’t forget that you probably have employee benefits to get you back to the gym. It’s likely that your workplace will offer you discounts when joining a gym or may even have a gym inside its building. You can go to the gym before or after work begins as a way to wake you up or to shake off the feelings of a hard day. If you’re feeling cheeky, you may even visit at lunch time!

The last thing that you want to do is go during a month where everyone else is going. Instead, you want to go during a time where there will be less people going to the gym. That’s why it’s useful to go in February because only the truly dedicated will be in the gym during this month. You need to maintain your stamina and feel good about your workout. There will be less stress if you go during February and you may find that you get more access to the equipment.

At the very start of the year, you may find that the trainers at a gym may have less time to focus on people in the gym. This is due to the fact that there are going to be lots of new people joining. Therefore, the gym trainers will be interested in their business. However, as New Year gym-members start to dwindle in February, you will find that you will be able to get a better deal with the type of training you receive. You may also find it easier to get a space in your gym classes as there will be less people queuing to use the equipment.
