Chapter 4 of “Literacy is Not Enough” focuses on the concept of problem-solving and solution fluency. The authors; Crockett, Jukes and Churches, have provided a process called “the 6 Ds.” The 6 Ds can be used by students to solve any problem they encounter. Solution Fluency is described as the ability to use the 6 Ds in an unconscious manner.
The Process described below is a cyclical process (reminds me of system thinking and a little of ADDIE, although ADDIE seems to be much criticized lately.
