Your goal as a business owner, if you have made a good team that works for you, is to keep that same team for as long as possible. You want your employees to always do their best and always have opportunities to challenge themselves too so that they do not want to leave your company. One way that your employee will remain loyal and that they will want to work as productively as possible is by offering incentives. Some incentives work better than others though, such as the five great ways that are listed in the information that is found below.
1. Concept Ideation
One great incentive idea is to encourage your employees to come up with a concept or plan for a new idea that you have at your business or for your business. This could be something like designing a new logo if you want to develop a new look for your business. You can say that the incentive is that the employee who is recognized for developing the best concept within the topic at hand will be recognized for the concept. That concept will also be the one that is used in the future when it is put into reality later down the line, and the employee can help you in putting it to reality.
2. Equity in the Company
If you have a large company that is actually on the stock market, you can offer equity to your employees. You can give them a specific piece of equity that has a higher valuation than what is available for general purchase to the public too. This will give your employees a sense of ownership, and it even acts as a cash bonus in a way. When the company is sold, if they have not cashed out the equity already, your employees will automatically receive the cash that it is worth.
3. Paid Time Off
Most contracts that you sign with your employees come with a certain number of days of paid time off or vacation time. Sometimes, however, employees could use another day off when they are working so hard on the projects you have for them. You could offer a paid day off for your entire team if they complete a project within a certain deadline, for instance. You could also offer an extra day off for the employee who has received the highest results on a particular challenge or project put in place.
4. A Week for the Employees
If your team is able to meet a goal then this incentive works best for the entire team. Treat them to an entire week that is all about them at your office in which they receive many rewards. Offer to cater their lunch on several days out of the week, and allow them to dress any way they would like to as long as it is appropriate. You could even allow your employees to work on the schedule that works best for them for this week so long as they get their work completed.
5. Physical Rewards
The final incentive that is a great idea for your employees is to offer actual, physical rewards to them. Congratulate them when they complete a task or when they meet their goals by giving them custom Nike apparel, for instance, from your company, or by offering them a gift card to their favorite restaurant. You could even create a gift basket that contains the apparel items, the gift card, and some of the employee’s favorite things. The possibilities are endless with physical rewards as long as your employee feels appreciated afterward.
It can be difficult to think of the perfect incentives for your employees who already put in so much work for your company. The list above is a great starting point, whether you want to give a physical reward or whether you want to offer them an experience that benefits them at the workplace. there are many other options besides the five that are found above, and each of the five is customizable to your company. It is so important to appreciate your employees so they stick around for the long-term and perform the work that is required of them.
