JustWatch, the world’s largest streaming guide, is taking the next step: launching its own streaming service. Announced at TIFF: The Market in Toronto, JustWatch TV will arrive in October with content from Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, Vortex Media, and additional partners.
Built directly into the JustWatch website and mobile and TV apps, the service will allow users to move from searching to watching without creating another account or switching platforms. Viewers can choose from free ad-supported content, rentals, and an ad-free subscription.
What makes this launch especially interesting is the data behind it. After more than a decade of tracking what 50 million monthly users want to watch—including titles they cannot find anywhere else—JustWatch will use those insights to shape its catalog. Users will also be able to request titles directly.
JustWatch TV launches in October in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.
