Materials to Consider When Redesigning Your Office Space

nancyrubinMarch 9, 2021October 18, 2021

To do your best work each and every day, you need an office space that is functional, comfortable and good-looking. If you’re getting ready to upgrade your office, you might be wondering which materials are the best for you to use. Here are four materials you should consider incorporating into your redesigned office.

Real Wood

A consistent classic in offices of all sorts, real wood lends an air of class and professionalism to any space. Whether used in flooring, wall paneling or even just for desks, real wood will significantly improve the look and feel of your office. Although it is more expensive than other materials, real wood is a great long-term investment. Thanks to its durability, the wood you buy for your office today should still be in good shape years from now. Have questions about building your new house and which type of decking will be the most durable, versatile, and affordable? Timber Decking in Singapore can provide answers

Ceramic Tile

Like wood, ceramic tile is a classic material that will give your office space a timeless look. Ceramic is best used as an accent in offices, though you may consider it as a flooring option as well. One of the best things about ceramic tile is that it comes in many different colors and patterns, allowing you to easily match it to your design scheme.

Acrylic

Sold under brand names such as Perspex, acrylic is a versatile, useful and cost-effective material. Acrylic can be used to create modernistic designs, thanks to its transparency. Shelving, cabinets and even cubicle walls can all be made out of acrylic sheets. In the time of COVID-19, you can also use it to create clear dividers that allow staff to interact with each other while reducing the risk of viral transmission.

Leather

If you’re in a formal business such as law or finance, you may want to consider incorporating some leather into your office design. While it is expensive, leather takes the feel of your office to the next level. Chairs, wall panels or even an office door accented with leather will all add beauty to your office space. In combination with dark wood, leather is a great option for creating an extremely professional environment. This material choice will also impress your clients, so it’s best to use it in the rooms where you normally meet with them.

Every office is unique, and the materials you ultimately choose for yours will reflect this fact. Decide on which materials best suit your office space and your line of work. Once you do, you’ll have an easy time redesigning your office around those materials.
